Finally March! The days are getting longer and my mood has been much better as a result.  I think I’ve been in hibernation mode, trying to preserve my energy and my money for more worthwhile jaunts.  Now that it’s March, however, I am back in action.  There are so many things to do in Chicago this month, I’d love to share with you some events that I’m looking forward to, and get your feedback about what you are looking forward to.

First up, at 11AM this Saturday, March 3rd at Macy’s State Street, R&B Yoga!Macy's Yoga Event March 3

Yoga on the seventh floor of Macy’s to smooth beats? For $40, you can bring your mat for a weekend yoga class followed by Ciroq powered cocktails and healthy snacks. After yoga, stay around to check out some of the latest designs by Calvin Klein, Nike, Ideology, Adidas and loads of other activewear designers.  I took a quick peek at some of the latest designs and here are some of my favorites.

March 11th: Daylight Savings Time!

While it really stinks that we all lose an hour of sleep, the extra light in the day is SO worth it. While our phones update themselves, don’t forget to turn the clocks ahead in your car, on your analog watches, and on any kitchen appliances.

March 17th: Chicago’s River Dyeing and Saint Patrick’s Day Parade

Chicago Green River

There are so many things to do in Chicago on Saint Patrick’s Day.  While mid-March weather can be 70ºF and sunny or 35ºF and rainy, the crowds turn out for the annual river dying event.  This year, river dying starts at 9AM meaning you’ll want to get to the river by about 8AM to get a decent viewing spot.  The parade begins at 1 pm on Columbus Drive, from Balbo north to Monroe.  At nearly three hours long, you’ve got time to come and go as you please.

Personally, after the Macy’s yoga event this weekend, I’ll be hunkering down writing thank you notes for my dear friends and family who hosted an incredible wedding shower for Eddie and me.

our wedding shower It is so important to me to express your gratitude.  Something I am so fearful of is having people think that I am selfish or ungrateful.  That’s why we decided to have a local reception instead of a ceremony on my favorite island. The last thing I would want to do is have friends and family fly somewhere to celebrate me and then not acknowledge their time, money, and effort via an individualized thank you.  So, I’m firing up the calligraphy kit and working on those this weekend.
